5 Daily Gratitudes

For Friday May 13, 2011

1. Saving the environment: After watching a presentation, I have a new motivation.

2. Dance parties: Our room is always ready to jam.

3. Nick: An inspiration to us all. We miss you.

4. Victoria Secret models: They were doing when we went shopping. So cool to see them!

5. El Coyote: An amazing Mexican restaurant in Beverly Hills that’s been in business for over 80 years!

What are you grateful for today?

Keep shining,
The Sunny Girl, Lauren Cook

    1. my incredible little sis b/c we can be 100 miles apart but i still feel as close to her as ever 🙂
    2. my mama – she is the most amazing woman i’ve ever met in my entire life and i am so blessed to have her as my mom
    3. cell phones – i know they can be a nuisance, but we’re so lucky to have technology that allows us to keep in touch with the people who matter most and let those people know we’re thinking about them
    4. friendliness – there is nothing more appreciated or well-received than the warmth shown by a friendly person, especially when it is shown to someone who is out of his/her comfort zone
    5. old friends – i couldn’t ask for more than my amazing friends who knows me completely, who can understand me without explanation, and who have been and will continue to be there during the happiest times and the saddest.

    1. FOOOD- nothing makes me as content as a full belly. yesterday we went shopping at ralphs, and our fridge is so packed that everytime we open it, stuff falls out! So I went a little overboard with the food today. im stuffed with garlic bread, chocolate cake and oreo ice cream right now. I feel so happy and hyper and energetic that I’m just dancing around the apartment with my roommates.
    2. friends- I hung out with one of my besties today. She is so witty- I’m always laughing when I’m with her. We walked to westwood, and got taco bell, falafel, and diddy riese. Usually the walk seems long, but we were so deep in conversation, and having our usual crazy boy talks that time flew by. We have a really similar way of thinking and the same sense of humor, so we click really well. I call her my soulmate, and I swear we were sisters in our past life. Love her! ❤
    3. car- walking back from class to my apartment in the 90 degree weather is sooo exhausting!! My friend who has a car over the summer gave me a ride back today, and it made such a difference in my day! I am so much less tired and got so much more done!
    4. dad- even though he's halfway around the world right now, he always makes sure im on track with my life with simple things like opening up a credit card account, booking my flight back home after summer school, paying my summer session bill, etc. He's always doing so many things, but always has time for me. He is the most inspiring person in my life! 🙂
    5. ucla classes: today we got to do a goldfish metabolism lab in ls 2. Playing around with the fishies was really fun. Also, I got to know my lab partners really well. Everyone I meet at UCLA is so unique and amazing, I love it! Im glad I'm in an environment where learning can be fun.

    3. Film cameras…
    4. People who come up with and follow through on good ideas like this blog
    5. Being able to laugh at myself…and almost anything.
Haha I had loads more but i guess these are cool.

  7. Dan says:

Your warmth of character and spiritual optimism are wonderful qualities Lauren. I hope you maintain this inward and outward smile throughout your entire life. Your beauty helps to outshine others around us that attempt to spread negativity and hatred.

    God Bless,

    1. Family- no matter what they are always able to be there and will help through anything, even the worst of mistakes.
    2. Helping others- whether volunteering or simply helping a neighbor, the smile on another persons face is thanks enough, the feeling is like none other.
    3. Tracker and Zoey- my dogs. They greet me when I come home and have become a part of my family.
    4. My own bed- after going on a few trips this summer I never realized how amazing my own bed feels and how lucky I am to have it.
    5. Sunny days spent outside- i love them
