Are we happier having a day off? I tried having one today and alas, I’m writing anyway! Perhaps it’s out of guilt or out of habit, but I think it can be hard to take a break sometimes. But it is the holiday season and this time of year should be about relaxing and having fun with our friends and family. So take that break that you deserve. Enjoy all the benefits that this holiday season has to offer…baking cookies, decorating the Christmas tree, and shopping for presents. And don’t do it alone–do it with the people that you love the most! They say it’s the most wonderful time of the year for a reason–but you have to make it wonderful for yourself!
Sometimes the hustle and bustle of the season that bring us down more than boost us up if we’re not careful. So if you feel yourself coming down with the holiday blues, take the time to realize what makes you the happiest. Sometimes feeling the obligation to go to every holiday party, every ice skating session, and every gingerbread house making can make you feel like a lump of coal rather than a bunch of holly. So pick and choose if you feel that you need what Christmas is for…a break.
