Sunshine of Our Lives

Sometimes there’s nothing like a night in. A spontaneous chat session with plenty of laughter, shared secrets, and of course, an order of pizza, is a night well spent in my opinion. My friends add immeasurable joy to my life and after I’ve had time to really talk to them, I always feel that much closer to them. I’m not sure how you boys talk it all out, but I know that for many of us girls, girl talk is the cat’s meow.
Of course, these meaningful conversations can’t be forced, they just have to happen. That is what I love about living in my sorority house. All I have to do is walk down the hall, sit on my best friend’s bed, and it’s just like the sleepovers we had in elementary school. But better. We talk about anything and everything and I love that—no topic is off limits. The amount of love and support in the room is so genuine; everyone has a voice and everyone listens. We trust each other.
I think I’ve felt a little lonely lately. It can be disheartening to know that at the end of the day, all you have is yourself. But my friends are a constant reminder to me that you are never really alone. The people in your life are there for a reason; to help you grow and to help you become a better person. Similarly, I try to be a good friend by helping my friends in any way possible. There is so much happiness to be gained from our friendships.  So be sure to appreciate your friends—let them know how much they mean to you. Friends are the sunshine of our lives!
