The Sunny Set: #271

What would you wish for if you had one wish? Some wish for a trip to Hawaii, some wish for a shopping spree, and some wish to meet their favorite celebrity. For Jaden, his wish is to have a dinosaur playground. He’s obsessed with everything dinosaurs: movies, clothes, and even dinosaur chicken nuggets is favorite food! Jaden is just your average five year old, except he is suffering from lymphatic leukemia. As disheartening as this is, there is always hope and there are not only miracles, but medicine, doctors, and an extra dose of TLC that can help Jaden recover. But to add some sunshine to his life, our Chi Omega chapter is attempting to give Jaden his wish: to have his life-size dinosaur playground. And that is why we, not just myself, are attempting Sunny Set Goal…

#271: To grant a wish for a child with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega’s national philanthropy and each year we raise about $3,000 for the cause with our yearly event called TUG. We have a huge Tug-of-war contest at UCLA along with a raffle drawing. In the past, these events have been successful; but we’re ready to kick it in high gear. To grant Jaden’s wish, we’ll need to raise $10,000—by December no less! I have confidence in our chapter though and I know that we’ll make Jaden’s wish come true.
